ENJOY our JOURNEY...

ENGAGEMENT

The proposal...

We went to Utah to attend the 165th Semiannual General Conference, October 1995 and attend a mission reunion for Jeremy. We stayed with one of Jeremy's mission companions and his family for the weekend.

On Saturday evening, we went to see a theater show called "Legacy" featured in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

We all took our seats and waited for the show to begin. Jeremy then handed me a single stemmed red rose with my ring placed in the center. And it was then that he stood before me and asked me to marry him in a theater full of people cheering and congratulating us. Little did we know that seated in the theater were friends from our stake back home. So when the theater let out, we had friends and their families approach us to congratulate us.

So this was the beginning of our very long engagement. We were then engaged for 10 months. Which if given the chance to do it all over again...we would never wait that long again.

We were then married on July 13, 1996. One year after Jeremy baptized me a member of the church.
